I’m Melissa Saulnier, an author living in Alaska with a love of travel, research and a good mystery.
My fiction travels from Alaska’s rugged wilderness to the fog-covered towns of the Pacific Coast. Some stories follow detectives and FBI agents into dangerous investigations. Others begin with an ordinary journey that slowly reveals that something isn’t quite right.
I also write nonfiction that explores history, questions our understanding of the past, and considers the experiences that shape our lives.
Whatever I’m writing, I’m drawn to the same question:

Her stories are influenced by travel, research, history, family experiences and a lifelong curiosity about the unanswered questions hiding beneath ordinary life.
When she isn’t writing, she is often researching the next story, sometimes in Alaska, sometimes along the Pacific Coast, and sometimes wherever the next interesting road happens to lead.
