Shoreline Secrets
Nora Brennan came to the Oregon Coast to disappear for a while.
Newly divorced and quietly unsure she is still the sharp investigator she used to be, she loads a field notebook into a butter-yellow 1970s VW bus called the Marigold and points it south. The plan is simple. Fog, bookshops, antique fairs, a few old memories, and absolutely no cases.
Then she finds a body at the foot of the Astoria Column, and everyone around her is content to call it an accident.
Nora is not. From Cannon Beach to Newport to Bandon and on to the gold-rush streets of Jacksonville, she keeps noticing the things other people step right over. A charming traveler who turns up one town too many. A fall that lands a little too neatly. A decades-old secret buried at an old archaeology camp, a missing cache of Spanish treasure, and a manuscript that was never meant to be read.
The deaths are following her route down the coast. And the closer Nora gets to the truth, the more she looks like the next loose end.
